Originally established in London by John Anderson (now Lord Waverley) and David McBryde, Planters secured its first contract in Bahrain marking the beginning of its Middle East expansion. David, now Chairman, drove a van from London to Bahrain for the installation of the Hilton Hotel Bahrain.

Secured first UAE contracts: installation and maintenance at the new Sharjah International Airport and Chicago Beach Hotel (current site of Burj al Arab).
Set up 22 retail outlets throughout Saudi Arabia, including a garden centre.
Installed the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.

Grew Planters’ interior plant maintenance portfolio to 1,500 contracts.
Expanded offering to include current range of landscaping services.
